About Us

Serving Nashville, Tennessee Since 1958

Mid-South Aluminum Company, Inc. was established in 1958 by E.W. Fielder and joined the Better Business Bureau as one of its charter members in 1961. They began their association with local television in 1962 with Country Junction hosted by Smiling Eddie Hill, who coined their trademark phrase, "Don't Put It Off, Put It On." For the next 30 plus years Mid-South was a mainstay on the iconic Ralph Emery Morning Show on WSMV where the live commercials were as much a part of the entertainment as the musical guests.

When Mid-South Aluminum Company, Inc. was formed, the primary goal was to operate a home improvement company with a set of standards and ethics that would become a model for the entire industry. It had been hoped that the success of such a company would cause others to follow suit and thereby benefit the consuming public as well as create a business in which all its participants would justly take pride.

In order to achieve that purpose, Mid-South Aluminum Company, Inc. adopted the following philosophies:
  • Continually seek out and make available quality products demonstrated to be the best in exterior home improvements, and offer warranties secured by dependable manufacturers.
  • Employ only representatives who will uphold our standard of ethics within the customer relationship, treating each fairly, offering reasonable estimates and respecting the needs and resources of each customer.
  • Always use skilled installation crews whose expertise displays their pride and willingness to carry through to the limits of their ability on every job.
From the beginning Mid-South Aluminum Company, Inc. established itself as a successful home improvement contractor, well known and respected throughout the Middle Tennessee area. After the passing of its founder in 1996, corporate president Chuck Trotter and the family decided it was time to update the name to better reflect the new trends in building materials and the expansion of the scope of work. The aluminum siding of years past had long been replaced by vinyl and more recently fiber cement board siding. More energy efficient vinyl replacement windows took the place of the old aluminum storm windows. Custom built sunrooms, screen porches and decks were also added to the product line, prompting the family to choose the name Mid-South Exteriors as a division of the original Mid-South Aluminum Company, Inc.

Today the company is run by Brenda Fielder as president, who began in sales almost 40 years ago, and Heather Fielder Lawrence, who has been running the operations now for over 20 years, with the help of her assistant Katherine Harvey. Sales rep John Tayes came to work for Mid-South over 30 years ago in the installation side of the business and has worked his way up to earn top sales honors in recent years. They are supported by a number of crews including the Martin brothers who have been with the company over 30 years, and the Fisher brothers who trained at Mid-South under their dad as teenagers back in the 70's. Mark's son Bubba was the first of the 3rd generation to carry on the family tradition and join the team.
